Everything in one place
Download an Instagram Reel or video
Open Instagram, find the reel or video, and tap the three-dot menu (or the paper-plane Share icon). Choose Copy Link.
Open the InstaMP4 Instagram downloader, paste the link into the box, and tap Download. Save the HD MP4 to your device.
Download an Instagram photo or carousel
Copy the post link the same way. Single photos download as full-resolution JPG.

Download a Facebook video or Reel
On Facebook, click the three-dot menu on the video and choose Copy link, or copy the URL from your browser's address bar. fb.watch and share links work too.

On iPhone (iOS)
Everything runs in Safari or Chrome — no app needed. After downloading, tap the file and use Save to Files, or long-press to save video to Photos. iOS may put the file in the Downloads folder in the Files app first.
On Android
Use Chrome or your default browser. Downloads land in your Downloads folder and appear in Gallery. No app or permissions to grant.
On desktop (Windows / Mac)
Paste the link and the file downloads to your usual Downloads folder. Handy for saving in bulk before editing.

Download several posts in a row
There's no daily limit, so you can work through a batch quickly: copy a link, paste, download, then clear the box with the × and paste the next one.
On desktop this is fastest — files drop straight into your Downloads folder, so you can queue up a whole series before you start editing.

Troubleshooting
“Private or unavailable.” The account or post is private, deleted, or age-restricted — only public media can be downloaded.
Nothing happens. Double-check you pasted a full link (starting with https://) and that it points to a single post, reel, or video.
Instagram link fails intermittently. Instagram rate-limits automated access; wait a moment and try again.
Facebook video won't resolve. Make sure it's a public video. Private, friends-only, and age-restricted videos can't be downloaded.
Download Instagram Stories
Public Stories can be saved the same way as any other post — copy the story link (or the profile link while the story is live) and paste it in. Note that Stories disappear after 24 hours, so grab them while they're up. Private or close-friends stories can't be accessed.
Which Instagram links work
InstaMP4 accepts every public Instagram link format: instagram.com/reel/…, /reels/…, /p/… (photos and carousels), /tv/… (IGTV), and share-sheet links copied straight from the app. If the app hands you a /share/… link, that works too — it's resolved automatically.
Which Facebook links work
For Facebook: standard video links (facebook.com/watch/…, /videos/…, /reel/…), short fb.watch links, and share links all work. Copy the link from the three-dot menu on the video, or straight from your browser's address bar.
Best quality and how to get it
InstaMP4 always offers the highest-quality file the original upload allows — up to full HD (1080p) when the creator posted in that resolution. There's no re-compression step, so what you download is byte-for-byte the quality that's on the platform. If a video looks soft, that's how it was uploaded, not a limit of the downloader.
Downloading on slow or mobile connections
The resolve step is tiny — it just fetches the link. The actual file transfers at your connection's speed, same as any download. On a weak signal, larger HD videos simply take a little longer; you can leave the tab open and it'll finish. Nothing is stored on your device until the download completes.
Is downloading legal?
Downloading public media for personal use — rewatching offline, saving your own posts, keeping a reference — is generally fine. Republishing someone else's content, or using it commercially without permission, can infringe copyright and breach platform terms. When in doubt, credit the creator and ask first.
